You can't teach teach an old dog new tricks! I heard this phrase many times over the years. I beg to differ!!!
One of my favorite things to do is learn. I read books. I network any time I am given the opportunity. I keep up on current events and I observe. The most important on the list is observe. The expression on someone's face; the way they sit or stand; the movement of their hands along with the tone of their voice are all very easy ways to know what that person is feeling. Some call it emotional intelligence. I just call it common sense.
I wasn't always able to do this!
Pay attention to those around you. Listen, observe and engage. Once you understand how a person is "wired," you can have a more positive interaction with them.
I love to learn! I love learning new tricks!
